IN THE HEART OF HISTORIC VALLEYS
This year we immersed ourselves in the most productive cattle valleys of the region, starting in the area of Lake Elizalde and finishing in the city of Coyhaique.
For three days we rode through the Simpson Valley and the Lago Frío sector, crossing the Divisadero Range, along mountain trails, logging roads, streams, and stretches of the Carretera Austral.
The Simpson and Coyhaique valleys, the historic heart of cattle ranching in Aysén, have been the stage where generations of settlers built their rural lives—opening fields, raising livestock, and sustaining traditions that remain alive today. In these lands, much of the region’s ranching identity was forged, and it still beats in every corral, every path, and every horse that rides across them.
